Dr. Caputo’s Story

Growing up, Dr. Caputo always assumed he would go to medical school; he was drawn to the idea of health care and wanted to spend his life solving complex problems in order to make patients’ lives better.

It was his brother and sister who convinced him to try dental school instead. Both of them had pursued their own dreams of medical education and felt like dental school would offer a better work/life balance.

When Dr. Caputo first began studying dentistry and actually started seeing patients, he fell in love with it. To this day, he says the best part of the job is hearing patient stories. He has had the pleasure of meeting interesting people from all over the world. While dentistry can be rewarding, the relationships are what keep Dr. Caputo engaged.

Education & Experience

Dr. Caputo earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Furman University and his Dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association.
