Dental Disease is Preventable!
Smokers are almost 2 1/2 times more likely than non-smokers to develop periodontal disease. Smokers are also more than 4 1/2 times more likely than non-smokers to develop SEVERE periodontal disease.
Drinking sodas, even diet sodas, are no better for you. Sugars and acids in soda eat away at your teeth, eroding your protective layer of enamel. This opens the door for decay and also helps to further gum disease.
So put down your soda, throw away your tobacco products, and chew a piece of sugar free gum or drink a bottle of water.
